Oh What A Lucky Man
As a child, Andy’s brother suffered from an accident that left him injured. Precocious and forever- observant, Andy began to pick up on people’s condolences: “You’re so lucky to be okay,” for example. Or, “it could have been so much worse!” This work is inspired by that negligence to actual
destruction – a metaphor for “band-aid” condolences that gloss over life’s, if not society’s, larger ailments.
