Sound of The Man

As Sam Cooke sang it in his 1961 song “Chain Gang,” “That’s the sound of the men / working on the chain / gang.” Supposedly inspired by roadside prisoners, the song – mimicked in Andy’s interpretation of it here – point blank calls for attention to the grind, the exploitation of the grind, and the injustice dished out to those who work it hardest.
